Gatecrasher v0.5 By Matt Denham [This is an unofficial sequel to Final Doom.] After closing what you thought was the final Gate, one Gate opened on Earth. You, as usual, were summoned to close this Gate and get back to Earth as quickly as possible. This Gate was triggered from a point somewhere in where you thought was Hell. [The planet that "Hell" was on was subsequently renamed Dante.] You must close this Gate, go back to Dante, seal any remaining Gates there, and return to Earth. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more information on this level, e-mail me at matt_denham@bendnet.com. I'd like to give credit to the authors of the Serenity Trilogy. The basic design of their levels (areas with skylights, metal/marble combos) is used in several of my levels. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Levels used: E1M1-E1M9, E2M1-E2M4 Of course, I put in player starts for all modes. The difficulty levels have been used in this WAD file. Since this isn't the completed version, there are no new sounds or graphics, and the music is not included either. Also, none of the demos were replaced. These levels were started from scratch, and I used DCK v2.2 to create them. Yes, I know I'm not using the latest version, but I'm too lazy to get the newest version of DCK, even though it should be good. The known bugs in these levels are: 1) E1M8: The exit door has two problems. First, it's apparently not there (just sky there), and second, it's set up wrong. I will fix this before uploading v1.00. 2) E2M4: The room containing the red door: a. The Cacodemon pen with the rotating walls appears... strange. I'll have to lower its ceiling. b. The red door's recess doesn't have the red skulls mounted above the door. This is like the first problem for E1M8. EVERYTHING IN THESE LEVELS IS POSSIBLE! Even the door triggered by a switch in the room w/6 switches in it (E1M6) can be reached if you RUN. I've done it. Just fight everything before you flip that switch. Of course, you can try it more than once. Also, I forgot to make the starting lift in E1M8; this will be fixed. Currently, it's already at the floor; I'm going to raise the entire lift quite a bit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you plan to use this as a base for any levels on your own, tell me about what you're going to do with them and I will tell you if you can do it. Just wait until you hear from me. If you don't hear from me for one month, assume it's okay, but credit me in your description. If you're going to be distributing this WAD, tell me. You can't currently distribute it with the music; I may change all of the music and then inform everyone who got this that they can distribute the music also. If you're going to sell this WAD file (as part of a collection or on its own), tell me first! I probably won't have any problems with that, but I would like to get a free copy of the entire collection (if you're selling it as a collection) in return for letting you use the WAD. If you're selling it on its own, I would like at least 5% of the money from it. This is just because I don't want somebody to sell it and not let me get something out of it. If you see this WAD file being sold somewhere, and I don't know about it, tell me and I will do anything I can to either get some of the money or stop it from being sold. Thank you. -07-22-96- Also... Version 1.00 will have the DeHackEd patches included! These change the end-of-episode text and the map names (in the automap).
