March 23, 1995 Hello, and thanks for downloading "The Gates of Doom" (gatedoom.mid). "The Gates of Doom" is copyright 1995 by Michael Walthius, all rights reserved. It is being freely distributed for non-commercial use. Anyone wishing to use this music in conjunction with software (or anything else for that matter) is asked to please contact the composer via email at keybdwizrd@aol.com. Additionally, should you choose to re-distribute this file, please do not make any changes or modifications. Also, please be so kind as to include this text file (gatedoom.txt). IMPORTANT INFO FOR PEOPLE USING NON-GM INSTRUMENTS: This file contains a couple of "embedded" patch changes on channel 11. At the beginning of the piece, the file calls up a "percussive organ" patch on channel (and track) 11. At measure 90, the file switches to a "rock organ" patch on channel (and track) 11. At measure 106, this switches back to the "percussive organ" patch. If you're using a non-General MIDI instrument, you'll need to make the necessary adjustments. Folks using General MIDI compatible instruments (which I believe most of you are) don't have to worry about this nonsense at all. * * * * * * * * * * For those of you who've enjoyed this piece, here is a list of my other MIDI files currently available in the Composer's Showcase section of the PC Music and Sound Forum's software library on America Online: Dreaming in Stereo (dreaming.zip) Incident at Dark Shores (drkshore.mid) Magic Travels (travels.mid) Funkengruven (fnkngrvn.mid) Cyberbeat (cybrbeat.mid) Echoes (echoes1.mid) Houserocker (housrokr.mid) Neon Overdrive (ovrdrive.mid) Jammin' on Sunset (sunset1.mid) Song For My Children (sngchild.mid) The On-Line Boogie (olboogie.mid) Nitefunk (nitefunk.mid) Additionally, four of my files (Echoes, Cyberbeat, Nitefunk, and Houserocker) can be found in a .zip file in the top picks section of the AOL PC Music and Sound Forum.
